MEDS stärker sin logistikkapacitet genom ytterligare investeringar i automation inför driftsättningen av bolagets nya logistikcentrum under tredje kvartalet 2026. Den nya anläggningen är nära tre gånger större än nuvarande logistikyta och skapar förutsättningar för fortsatt effektiv tillväxt under lång tid.

Investeringarna ligger väl inom ramen för det tidigare kommunicerade behovet av att investera ett tiotal miljoner kronor under de närmaste åren och förväntas bidra till ökad effektivitet, förbättrad skalbarhet och stärkt leveranskapacitet.

“Vi fortsätter skala verksamheten konstnadseffektivt med väl beprövad och effektiv automation. Genom kontrollerade investeringar säkerhetställer vi fortsatta leveranser till hela Sverige utan finansiell och operationell risk”, säger VD och medgrundare Björn Thorngren.

Som en del av satsningen har MEDS tecknat avtal om att utöka befintliga automationslösningar med ytterligare packmaskiner och sorteringsautomation. Investeringen ökar kapaciteten till tiotusentals paket per dag och är samtidigt utformad för att kunna skalas upp ytterligare i takt med framtida behov.

Automationslösningarna levereras av Ranpak, som MEDS samarbetat med sedan 2021, samt det svenska automationsbolaget E-motions.

“Valet av Ranpak är en fortsättning på vårt samarbete som inleddes 2021. De har visat hög kvalitet och god förståelse för våra behov. När det gäller E-motions föll valet på deras förmåga att erbjuda en effektiv automationslösning med kapacitet att samla in och analysera drift- och processdata. Det ger oss större möjligheter till optimering. Den modulära uppbyggnaden möjliggör flexibel framtida utbyggnad”, säger logistikchefen Sener Özel.

MEDS invests in additional automation capacity for new logistics centre

MEDS is strengthening its logistics capacity through further investments in automation ahead of the commissioning of the company's new logistics centre in the third quarter of 2026. The new facility is nearly three times larger than the current logistics area and creates conditions for continued efficient growth over the long term.

The investments are well within the scope of the previously communicated need to invest tens of millions of Swedish kronor over the coming years, and are expected to contribute to increased efficiency, improved scalability and enhanced delivery capacity.

As part of the initiative, MEDS has signed agreements to expand existing automation solutions with additional packing machines and sorting automation. The investment increases capacity to tens of thousands of packages per day and is at the same time designed to be scaled up further in line with future needs.

The automation solutions are supplied by Ranpak, with whom MEDS has collaborated since 2021, and the Swedish automation company E-motions.
