Tromsø, Norway, 5 November 2026 – ArcticZymes Technologies ASA (OSE: AZT) today reported continued growth in the third quarter and first nine months of 2026. Third-quarter sales revenue rose 15% year-on-year to NOK 32.9 million, or 24% at constant exchange rates, led by 44% growth in Biomanufacturing. For the first nine months, sales grew 23% to NOK 96.6 million, while EBITDA more than tripled to NOK 12.1 million.
The results highlight two trends that underpin ArcticZymes' growth strategy. First, more customers are building ArcticZymes enzymes into the manufacturing process of new medicines, which can create recurring demand as their programmes grow. Second, the business is scaling profitably: over nine months, sales grew 23% while operating expenses grew 13%, lifting the EBITDA margin to 12.5% from 4.7% and turning EBIT from a loss of NOK 3.0 million into a profit of NOK 5.3 million.
After the quarter, ArcticZymes entered a new market with its first two products for the manufacture of RNA-based medicines, the technology behind mRNA vaccines and a growing number of new treatments. RNA production relies on several specialised enzymes, giving ArcticZymes the opportunity over time to supply multiple steps in a single manufacturing process, alongside its established Biomanufacturing and Molecular Tools businesses.

Business Segment Performance
Biomanufacturing: growing use in the production of new medicines
Biomanufacturing revenue reached NOK 18.8 million in the third quarter, up 44% year-on-year and 57% of Group sales. For the first nine months, revenue was NOK 50.0 million, up 11%. Growth in Q3 included a new CDMO client using M-SAN, an enzyme that removes unwanted DNA during production, to manufacture lentivirus (a viral carrier used to deliver genes) for in vivo CAR-T therapies, a new class of cancer treatments in which the patient's own immune cells are reprogrammed inside the body.
Once an enzyme is written into a customer's approved manufacturing process, demand tends to follow the program as it scales towards commercial production. The rebound from the second quarter supports the Company's view that quarterly swings in this segment reflect the timing of individual customer programs rather than a change in underlying demand.
Molecular Tools: strong year-to-date growth despite order timing
Molecular Tools revenue was NOK 14.1 million in the third quarter, down 8% year-on-year and 43% of Group sales, mainly because a couple of customer orders moved into the fourth quarter. For the first nine months, Molecular Tools sales grew 39% to NOK 46.6 million.
Financial Position
ArcticZymes ended the quarter with NOK 271.5 million in cash and short-term investments and no interest-bearing debt. Growth continues to be funded from the Company's own operations, giving ArcticZymes the capacity to invest in its portfolio and commercial reach and to evaluate strategic opportunities from a position of strength.
CEO Commentary
“Q3 provides further evidence that our strategy is translating into growth,” said Michael B. Akoh, CEO of ArcticZymes Technologies ASA. “Biomanufacturing grew 44%, with sales to CDMOs more than doubling, and Molecular Tools remains up 39% for the year to date despite some orders moving into the fourth quarter. Just as important, we grew sales by 23% over nine months while operating expenses rose 13%, which shows the operating leverage in our business model.”
“Our model is to develop specialised enzymes that solve important problems for customers and become embedded in their workflows, creating durable, recurring demand as customers move towards commercial manufacturing. We are now applying that model across a broader range of markets, including RNA medicines, which also reduces our dependence on any single segment or customer programme.”
Events After the Quarter
Entry into RNA medicines opens a new growth opportunity
On 27 October 2026, ArcticZymes launched RiboClean(TM) dsDNase and RiboCleave(TM) 1, its first products for the manufacture and quality control of RNA-based medicines. This is a new market and customer base for the Company and a concrete step in its strategy to broaden the product portfolio and diversify income streams, built on its existing expertise in enzyme development, manufacturing and commercialisation. The market for RNA-related reagents is large and rapidly expanding, estimated at approximately USD 13 billion in 2025 and expected to grow at around 13% annually.
RNA medicines are made by copying RNA from a DNA template using enzymes. The DNA must then be removed, and the finished product tested before it can be used. The two new enzymes are designed to make this production and quality control both cheaper and faster. RiboClean(TM) dsDNase removes residual DNA during production and, based on the Company's launch data, is estimated to deliver more than 80% lower nuclease cost per batch. RiboCleave(TM) 1 cuts the time needed for a key quality-control test from around six hours to around 30 minutes.
The products are initially offered through an early-access program, in which customers can order them and test them in their own processes. The near-term objective is customer evaluation and adoption. As in viral vector Biomanufacturing, revenue is expected to build as customers write the enzymes into their processes and their programs progress towards larger-scale and commercial production, while the Company aims to add further RNA enzymes over time.
Outlook
ArcticZymes remains focused on delivering sustainable double-digit growth from three complementary sources: deeper penetration of existing customers and applications, geographic and channel expansion, and entry into new enzyme markets such as production of RNA medicines. Priorities are unchanged from those set out at the Capital Markets Day in March 2026:
- Continued scaling of Biomanufacturing, with increased use of GMP-grade (medicine-production quality) enzymes among CDMO customers
- Expansion of the partner-led distribution strategy, with a dedicated focus on the Asia-Pacific region
- Broader enzyme application development, including metagenomics (analysis of genetic material from mixed samples) within the DNA sequencing franchise
- Commercial development of the RNA portfolio, starting with RiboClean(TM) dsDNase and RiboCleave(TM) 1
Reflecting its confidence in ArcticZymes’ growth prospects and strong financial position, the Board has asked management to evaluate capital allocation options, including a potential share buyback and the possible use of treasury shares as consideration in future acquisitions.
The Company remains mindful of the geopolitical and macroeconomic environment, including trade policy, tariffs and currency volatility; a weaker US dollar and euro against the Norwegian krone reduced reported third-quarter sales by NOK 2.4 million. With momentum in Biomanufacturing, Molecular Tools orders carried into the fourth quarter, a newly launched RNA portfolio, demonstrated operating leverage and a debt-free balance sheet, ArcticZymes is well positioned for continued growth through the remainder of 2026 and beyond.
